Rosss eclectic singing career has found him performing with numerous musical theatre and opera companies, symphony orchestras and choral groups across Canada. Calgary Opera, Edmonton Opera, Vancouvers Theatre Under the Stars, Winnipegs Rainbow Stage, and Torontos Canadian Opera Company are a representative handful of the companies with which he has sung.
Roles performed over the years include: Danilo in the Merry Widow, Giusepppi in the The Gondoliers, Escamillo in Carmen, Gianni Schicchi, the Father in Hansel and Gretel, Figaro in the Barber of Seville, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, Dandini in La Cenorentola, Papageno in the Magic Flute, and Bob in the Old Maid and the Thief.
His appearances with Symphony Nova Scotia have included "Madama Butterfly", "HMS Pinafore", "The Gondoliers", HMS Pinafore, Howard Cables Broadway, and Bach's "Ich habe genung" and the "Coffee Cantata". He is a featured soloist with the "Rhapsody Quintet" on their first CD, The Melody Lingers On. Recent opera credits include Trudeau and the world premiere of Ghost Tango with Vocalypse Productions and he will sing Carmina Burana with the Dal Chorale in April.
Ross is an active choral conductor, the founding conductor of the Annapolis Valley Honour Choir and former leader of the Cantabile Singers of Truro for 15 years. He is a guest clinician, conductor and adjudicator for numerous choral camps, workshops, festivals and clinics throughout the Maritime region and is currently working with the Nova Scotia Youth Choir program.
A retired music teacher with the Valley Regional School Board he was the recipient of a Prime Ministers Award for Teaching Excellence. Composing credits include the Fezziwig Christmas Musicals, Belinda the Bicycle Witch and Lost and Found both presented by Festival Antigonish.
